Recent Scouting Events

Troop 405 works to embody the spirit of scouting through our activities and our service to the local community. The idea that scouting is “fun with a purpose” is fully embraced whether it is during a meeting, enjoying the outdoors by camping, working in the community alongside members of Saint Matthew Catholic Church, or picking up trash to help Keep Durham Beautiful.

While trying to enjoy the benefits of living in North Carolina, we look to explore our home state and seek to protect its natural beauty through conservation efforts and practicing both the Outdoor Code and Leave No Trace. Every year, we spend a week at Summer Camp where scouts can earn merit badges, learn leadership, and just have fun. For the past four years, we have attended Camp Durant near Carthage, NC, but the Troop has also been to Camp Ravenknob near Winston-Salem; Camp Grimes near Morganton, NC; and Camp Boddie on the Pamlico Sound.
